Mamma Mia!

Wow, it has been far too long since I last updated. I should be wrapping up my college apps within the next couple weeks, so updates will begin to come at a greater frequency.

Until then, here are a few notables:

  • Myths of Web Standards,” by Sir Zlog, is a short list of untruths about the use and implementation of web standards, including “you musn’t use tables” and “standards compliant sites must be ugly.”
  • Blogger code is a string of alphanumeric symbols that represent all things about your blog, including how long it’s been around and how often you post to it. Vlad already has one, I might get mine sooner or later, and you can get your own right now by filling out a short form.
  • Daniel Rubin of SuperfluousBanter only received three entries for his sidebar redux contest. Luckily, he liked all three entries, and the winning entry is now being used at the site. Take a look.
  • I recently began studying “flash fiction,” also known as micro fiction or pocket fiction, in my creative writing class. It’s a very interesting and unusual form of fiction that tells an entire story in anywhere from 75 to 1000 words, but no more. There is no room for superfluous words or sentences; everything must count. Take a look around and find one to read. They’re great fun, especially for those that are on the go.

Chris and I have a few collections of flash fiction stories if you want to borrow them.
