So I go in the store, tell the guy what’s wrong with the computer, and basically let him know that for $3,300 a computer should last more than a few months. I hinted at a trade in, but he brushed that idea away, which I assumed would happen. So, anyways, my laptop got FedExed to some place where it’s going to be repaired. Thank God my warranty wasn’t up, or I would have been $310 in the hole. He said it should be back in six or seven days, so I hope it comes back working like it should.

Hey,
Belive me, I understand the dilemma you’re going through right now. About a year ago, I experienced a similar situation with my iBook, that once the Apple people fixed it, I sold it on ebay and just opted for a 15″ Powerbook. The ibook just wasn’t the same when I got it back. Good luck, man!

Hey, Jorge… thanks for the support! It really does help to know that I’m not the only one with a faulty Apple. I was thinking the same thing in terms of selling on eBay. I might just try to get what money I can from it before it’s too late, and if no updates for the PowerBooks are announced at the June 28 WWDC in San Francisco, then I’ll just go for a 12″ or 15″.

A $3,300 computer should definitely last more than a few months. :) Good luck with it.

Hope everything is working out for you, Adam.
I’ve got one quick note for the site (I love coming here, and I am sure that others do, too): For the alt text of the picture, I think you should change it to “[This Picture's Title] – Click to view previous entry”. I know that I was unclear as to why I was being sent to the previous picture for a couple of days…
Let us know what’s up with your computer. I’d love to get an Apple myself some day… we’ll see when that ever happens.

I think that you going to find no new laptop updates for WWDC.. other than LCD screens. My guess is for the PB G5 in January 2005…. Sell the laptop and get one of those new PM G5′s…. I’m starting to see value in a desktop as laptop’s are funny machines.
