Expressway

I was quite shocked to see that I had gotten first place in my first contest, Light, at i-gizmo. Thanks to everyone that voted for “Warmth.” I’d also like to thank everyone that has supported me as I’ve tried to figure out what to do with my PowerBook. I just finished registering my eBay account, so I’m all set to sell it once it’s back and working like new. I was hoping I could sell it for a decent price (at least $2000), but after looking through other listings, it looks as if I’ll only get around $1500. Gosh darn.

Hey,
First of all, let me compliment you on your photography titled “Warmth”. Very nice. Oh, yeah, about your Powerbook. I see your opting to sell it. To be honest I really didn’t get much for my iBook either. Just $975, including S&H. But before you decide to make another Powerbook purchase, I hear there’s a buzz about some possible announcement in regards to Powerbooks WWDC conference with Steve Jobs. Well, good luck with everything.

If this were a bit of a Rorschach test, I’d say I see two eyes looking down on traffic from the upper-left third of the photo. A bit of unintentional commentary on our surveillance society?

Yours is the best photo-blog site I’ve seen on the Web. Do you have a Photoshop action or some other device for automating the rounded corner on your featured photo?

Jorge… good idea about the WWDC. I’ll definitely hold off on purchasing another PowerBook until I see if there are any improvements announced. And thanks for the compliment! :)

John… nice interpretation! I can definitely make out two eyes, and see how they almost seem to be watching the street. About the rounded corner… it is achieved quite easily, and without having to do any image work in Photoshop. All it is is a small GIF image on top of the photo. Part of the GIF is transparent, therefore you see the photo through it and get the effect of a rounded corner. That’s it! :) If you don’t quite understand, try checking the page source.

Adam, I tried your solution and the sticking point seems to be that your solution requires using the image in question as a background image. I already have a background image in my blog’s main content column, and it appears to be covering up the image I’m trying to include in my blog post.

Any suggestions?
