I haven’t posted in a while, and I apologize for that. I move into my dorm on Monday, so the past week has been filled with all kinds of preparation, from ordering my bedding to finding parking for my car. I showed my true designer colors by creating an entire sample board, complete with color scheme, furniture choices, and posters for the wall. I’ve chosen an army green, khaki, and bright red scheme for the room. Should be cozy, fun, and masculine.

Cool! You should post a pic of the sample board. I’m about to do the same thing for my room.

Have you met or spoken with your roomate yet?

Adam, good luck at school. I’m headed into my 4th year at Middlebury College (It’s in Vermont), and it’s been the best time of my life. Don’t get lost at your big Uni, just make a good core group of friends and have a blast. Are you planning on studying design? Just so you know, your roomate may not have the same “color scheme” thought process that you do, so your room could end up looking like Ye Olde College Dorm Room, anyway.

What no beer mirrors? If you don’t know what those are you have lived a sheltered life for too long.

Stu, there’s actually no roomate for me to meet… I’ve got a single! I was quite lucky to be assigned one, mostly because I can make the room look exactly as I want it (and I’m sure some of you know that I have self-diagnosed myself with OCD).
Andy, thanks for the advice! I don’t have a major yet. I’m just going in undecided.
Beer mirrors? No idea!

You can get singles as a freshman? That’s just not right.

I was the only freshman at my school with a single. Because I got put in a room with 8 people and complained, and I guess that’s all that was left.
It was great, because I got to decorate it just how I wanted it…I went more conservative, with navy and dark red, a Van Gogh print, a oriental-wool rug and black lamps. I still have good memories of that space, though I have much different tastes now eight years later.

You are ridiculously lucky, Adam. I would have killed for a single last year.
Good luck getting settled in… we want to see more pictures soon!

Hi Adam, Your parents gave me this address. I am the bartender up @ Mitchells. I like to take photos as well, so they told me to check out your work. Very nice. Good luck to you & I’ll be looking forward to future photographs

Sorry for the late post, but at Indiana University there’s an entire dorm building that’s nothing but singles. I didn’t specifically request it, but I got assigned there when I was a freshman way back in the last century (1988).
