The “Save For Web” feature in Photoshop CS for Mac is really starting to irritate me. On my PC, “Save For Web” exports the image with the exact same appearance that it has in the program, but the Mac version greatly desaturates the photo. I have gotten around this by using “Save As” instead, but I much prefer “Save For Web.” Does anyone have an explanation for this?

it could be the color profile it is set with. i had a problem with image colors being less saturated than the ones displayed by my browser, so i set a color profile for it and it fixed it. maybe that’s your problem?
i like the photo; it’s shiny and has depth of field. what more could you ask for?

I can’t explain it, but I know I have the same annoying problem, too. I hope someone has a good explanation!
This is a *kick ass* photo, Adam…

Try checking that you’ve got the right colour profile checked. Once you’ve clicked “save for web”, click the arrow/triangle at the top right corner of the preview images to see the different profile options.
That fixed it for me, anyway. Hope it helps!
..beautiful photo BTW. I’ve just found your site and love your work.

Go to the View menu, and choose Proof Setup > Monitor RGB. When you export it using save for web, you’ll notice the colors stay the same.
Good to see you back!
