Your choice of an upward approach to the sky as well as the dusty red haze in the background brings a fresh face to what could have been a cliche horizon shot of the sunrise. Great job!

What a fantastic photograph, I am a massive fan of shots of the sky and this is one of the best I have seen, I love it when the sun just creeps behind the clouds like that, you can get some beautiful shots with the way the sunlight gets dispersed, and this is certainly a great example.

Thanks, everyone, for the great compliments! I’m glad that this photograph was such a hit. To answer your question, James, I boosted the contrast a bit with Photoshop. It was necessary because a lot of contrast is usually lost when shooting towards such a bright sun.
