And then came version five. It’s nothing too special, but it’s fresh, new, and I kind of like it. It’s going to take me a couple more days to completely implement the design, so please disregard the ugliness that you’ll no doubt be seeing. Enjoy!

A fresh design, accompanied by a surge of new photographs, is just around the corner.

What a busy last month! My photo submission to the “28MM: OFFLINE” coffeetable book was chosen, I was accepted into USC’s School of Cinema-Television 2005 Summer Program, I went to Florida with some friends for spring break, and overall I have been having a really amazing second semester at college. Photography has had to take a back seat to school and classes, but come summer (which starts for me on April 20) posting should increase. Thanks for hangin’ tight!

So my PowerBook has basically turned into a slow old woman. Everything I do takes at least a couple seconds to process, and when it comes to doing two things at once, it’s hardly possible. If I’m launching PS and try to switch songs in iTunes, I get the rainbow spinner for about 5 to 10 seconds, after which point screens jump all over the place from my aggravated clicking. I think this is somewhat to blame for my lack of posts – it’s a pain in my ass to open iPhoto, PS, Transmit, and Safari.

Well, I’ve been quite the download-whore over the last couple days. The list includes Quicksilver, Jewelcase, MacTheRipper, Matinee, and NewsFire. (Not to mention a crapload of great new music ranging from The Thrills to The Cooler Kids). All I need now is an old iPod to store my ripped DVDs. (Don’t worry, they’re all mine)!

In the midst of trying to figure out how to make Exposé move in slow-motion, I discovered something even cooler that I had no idea was possible! When in “All Windows” mode, you can use the tab key to cycle through each individual window (not usable windows, Exposé windows). Useful? Maybe. Cool? Oh, yes!

I wasn’t convinced that Apple was going to respond to the many complaints about bugs and glitches in iPhoto 5, but today I was pleased to see version 5.0.1 available when I checked Software Update. Now that everything is in working order, I’m ready to admit that I’ve really been loving the new iPhoto! I of course still use Photoshop for my photography, but the editing tools are great for everyday snapshots of friends and parties and such. Good stuff!

I always thought that the iPod and iPod mini were the perfect size – that anything smaller would just be pointless because they were already small enough. I was wrong. My iPod shuffle has been such a pleasure. I carry it in my hand when walking to class and I honestly don’t even know it’s there. It’s also winter-friendly because I can use it with gloves on. Everyone needs one!
