Honestly, everyone is getting so worked up about not knowing where it came from and all this stuff. Who cares? the director probably doesn't even know. That's the point. Leave us with hundreds of unanswered questions, leave us thinking. The movie was shot from a victim in Manhattan's point of view. Therefore, they know JUST as much as we do, and we know just as much as they do.
