Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia Currently enjoying photos that Flickr has collected of the Salar de Uyuni salt flats in Bolivia. The flats are particularly gorgeous when covered in water. I was inspired to do the search by the viral video, Where the Hell is Matt?, in which he dances in just the place. Don’t miss his new video for 2008.
Chic new Harper’s Bazzar cover This month’s Harper’s Bazzar cover, featuring RenĂ©e Zellweger, is stunning. She’s wearing a bright red dress and stands in front of an equally red backdrop. The text is minimal and set in an elegant gold. The overall effect is fantastic.
Rethinking the toaster This is probably the coolest toaster I’ve ever seen, even if that isn’t saying much. Not sure how realistic it is, but it looks great.
On the street, yellow and cream, Paris It is the beautifully composed, perfectly exposed, sharp as a pin, semi-candid photos of fashionable people on the street like these that make The Sartorialist so popular. Make sure you click the photos to see them in larger, more stunning resolution.
American Gangster This film, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe, is one of the best films I’ve seen all year. Expertly crafted plot structure, top-notch performances by everyone involved, and superbly directed. The film is truly a must-see.
Tin Man A new Sci Fi Channel original miniseries reimagines the world of OZ (the Outer Zone) as a much darker, more twisted place in which an evil sorceress has enshrouded the magical world with fear and oppression. You can watch the trailer on YouTube. Premieres Sunday, December 2nd at 9/8C.
A Vision of Students Today I don’t think this video does a good job at making a point, whatever that point might be, but it does introduce some honest statements that I, and a ton of other kids I know, could easily corroborate. It’s worth a look.
