I Love Red

This was a somewhat pedestrian photo of a watercolor pallette, each color of the rainbow sequentially and rightfully represented by a paint chip. I just thought it was kind of… well, boring. So I fired up Photoshop and painted everything red. I think it makes the photo that much more interesting.

Fish for Dinner

I can’t wait to see Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 and The Corporation, a documentary that has been referred to as “the next Bowling for Columbine.” I saw a trailer for it when I saw the highly entertaining, but seemingly overexaggerated, Super Size Me. Documentaries really seem to be hitting it big lately.

Acid Rain

Here’s a first in a new category called “Hand-Colored.” With film photography this is done using tinted oils. With digital, the tool of choice is of course Photoshop.

Three new designs have been added to the Zen Garden. They’re nice, particularly “Mediterranean”, but nothing like some of the older designs. People seem to have lost interest, or perhaps have run out of ideas, so hopefully someone will step up (me?) and create something fantastic.

A Tulip Couple

A visitor, Greg, suggested a “scheme gallery,” something that had been on my mind. Greg’s mention of it further encouraged me to give it a go. Ladies and gentleman, I give you… “Where’d Ya Get That There Color Scheme?” I’ll be providing one every so often, and you can get there via the navigation menu, or by clicking the color palette in the entry itself. Go ahead, try:

Model Tulips

Here’s another photo you’ll likely remember. The colors have always made it one of my favorites, so I thought I’d repost it with an accompanying color scheme.

Hats off to both CSSBeauty and the Web Standards Awards for the mentions and honors. It really ensures my hope in the new design and working of this site.

M3God

The time had come to use my new M3Power razor. Like Jeff Croft, I had never been so excited to shave. With one stroke across my cheek, I was an M3Power believer. I don’t know how Gillette discovered that by making the razor vibrate, it would provide a better shave, but trust me, it works. I never felt a nick, a scrape, any irritation… nothing. It felt like nothing. When I was done, I could’ve sworn that the razor hadn’t done anything, but low and behold my face was as smooth as ever. Buy this thing, men. Buy it.

The hosta canals

Hosta leaves + rain = beautiful imagery a la nature.

The Hosta Canals Color Scheme

I got ahold of an M3Power razor for only $9.99 at my local grocery store. The normal retail price was $14.99. I’ll let you know how it goes.

You can now search the archives by color scheme. Should come in handy. Also, someone requested that the photos themselves be in the RSS feed, so now they are. Let me know if I did it correctly.

Curly-Q

I recently purchased the Quattro razor by Shick, and already I’m tempted to shell out another fourteen or so bucks for Gillette’s M3Power razor, which features “Micro-Power,” a battery-powered motor inside the razor handle that causes the razor to vibrate, allowing for a closer and more thorough shave. This I gotta try!
